Representing the first single from his debut full-length Hymns for the Damned, “Cellophane” was written and produced by Jensen in his garage, described as “about your past suffocating your future.” Jensen continues: “It’s about the demons of your past becoming the demons of your future no matter how hard you try. You can’t escape your past. You can’t escape yourself.” The result is a stirring success, succeeding in both its ghostly title-touting moments and sequences of impactful alt-rock ardor.
