As an accompaniment to their nostalgia-charged latest single, Motorola, Somerset indie band Lee Feather and the Night Movers have released an entertaining football-inspired video that is sure to amuse more than a few viewers.
Coming fresh from the release of their debut album, Lee Feather and the Night Movers are an enticing up-and-coming band recognisable for their sharp and eclectic songwriting, offering insightful, tongue-in-cheek reflections on modern life with a darker edge. So far, they have earned support from the likes of BBC Introducing, DORK, and a good number of leading indie music blogs. On top of that, their characteristic high-energy live shows have not gone unnoticed on the live circuit, including multiple headline performances at London’s Shacklewell Arms and The Social throughout 2026.
Having already made some heads turn with the well-received debut single No Refunds (At The Pleasure Dome), the band has taken another step forward with Motorola, an electrifying, nostalgic, 90s-inspired summer anthem produced by Joshua Woolf (Hidden Charms). Here, jangly guitars meet upbeat rhythms, building towards one of the most infectious choruses you will hear in a while. Everything works in unison as a straight throwback to the beloved indie-pop football anthems of the 90s and 2000s.
However, equally enjoyable as the track itself is the music video, which not only stands as one of Lee Feather and the Night Movers’ most entertaining projects to date but also features a sports legend as its main highlight.
Featuring iconic Premier League legend Gianfranco Zola, this football-inspired visual story presents Zola in the role of a coach. Overall, the video is packed with little nods to that golden era of football culture that people remember so fondly. Aesthetically, there is plenty of love for classic style too, with Umbro making an appearance throughout and hitting right in the feels from a nostalgic perspective, thanks to its unmistakable retro-inspired looks.
Still carrying plenty of momentum, Lee Feather and the Night Movers have shown that there is plenty more to come from them. The ball is now in their court, so let’s wait and see what their next move will be.
