The Race can be relied upon to provide something big and ‘D of E’ is certainly that, from the booming percussion to a lead vocal that has a Win Butler/Bono kind of declaration about it. There is passion amid the big jangling chords and a little vulnerability which makes for an uncommon combination to set the song apart. You know that come the end every scintilla of energy has been dispatched from the Race to turn ‘D of E’ into a statement of intent that we can all sign up to.
