The announcement comes after Barone appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and formally launched a campaign for Best Comedy Album at the 2027 GRAMMY Awards. The category has historically been dominated by male comedians, and Barone has framed the campaign around bringing more attention to female stand-up voices. “Galaxy Brain is such a special project for me. I’m excited people will now be able to take it with them wherever they go,” she said. “Whether you’re sweating on the elliptical, taking a road trip with your best friend, or just want to escape your own anxieties by tapping into mine, this album is for you. It’s a dream to release the album with MCA. I’ve always wanted a record deal!”

The Netflix edition of Galaxy Brain reached the platform’s Top 10 after its premiere. Barone also stars in and writes for the Amazon and A24 comedy series Overcompensating, which is set to return for Season 2 next year. Alongside her television work, she co-hosts the podcast Ride with Benito Skinner.

Barone previously self-produced the stand-up special Thought Provoking, which was released in 2024. Her live credits include sold-out headline performances at the New York Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs. Netflix Is A Joke Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival have also hosted sold-out headline appearances by Barone.
