Ridley Scott’s new film The Dog Stars arrives in cinemas this week, with some big names on the soundtrack. Find the full list below.
Based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel of the same name, the post-apocalyptic thriller stars Jacob Elordi as Hig, a young pilot who has survived a pandemic that wiped out most of humanity.
He lives with his dog Jasper and the military survivalist Bangley (Josh Brolin) at an abandoned airfield, until a mysterious radio transmission inspires him to venture into the unknown in search of other survivors.
Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney also appear in the film, which is released in UK cinemas on Friday (August 28). Watch the trailer below.
Ridley Scott, meanwhile, recently revealed that he does not agree with Quentin Tarantino’s assertion that Scott’s Black Hawk Down is the best film of the 21st century. “I wonder what he was on,” the director said. “Because whatever it is, I want some.”
The film’s original score was composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, a frequent Scott collaborator whose previous work with the director includes Kingdom Of Heaven, The Martian, The Last Duel, House Of Gucci and Gladiator II.
A 17-track album featuring Gregson-Williams’ score will be released digitally by Hollywood Records on Friday (August 28).
The film also features a number of needle drop songs by big name artists, including Hozier, Van Morrison, Dean Martin and Mick Jagger.
