The word that kept coming to the fore when listening to ‘Man O’War’ for me was ebullient. And that is down to the sheer ecstasy of performance form this combo, jangling near spaghetti western guitars, flowing beats and of course a singer who makes like the bedroom windows have been flung open to reveal a colourful summer meadow worth of spectacle. How on earth could you not be drawn to such sunshine, reminding of Alvvays but something uniquely this act at the same time. Turning hollering into a work of art and warming the cockles of our heart in the process. Watch your back the Ting Tings.
