Big Ocean Release Seductive Single "Love Sign"

Big Ocean has returned with seductive digital single "Love Sign" on September 9.

"Love Sign" puts a creative twist on the common greeting "What's your sign?"—usually asked to determine someone's astrological sign—by reframing it as a question about sign language. By substituting "sign language" for "astrological sign," the meaning of the question shifts, and the answer itself becomes the song's chorus. The track captures the excitement and curiosity of a first encounter using a language unique to Big Ocean.

The song's standout feature is its chorus. The names of various sign languages from around the world—including Korean Sign Language (KSL), American Sign Language (ASL), and British Sign Language (BSL)—are recited as the hook. Rather than simply singing "about" sign language, the names of the languages themselves drive the melody; here, sign language is not merely a "translation" added to the stage performance but serves as the song's central theme and primary language of expression.

Producer Frankie Biggz once again collaborated on the project, handling both production and mixing, while Irene Bauza contributed to the composition and lyrics. Additionally, all three members—Chanyeon, PJ, and Jiseok—participated in writing the lyrics, personally crafting the message they wished to convey to their fans in their own words. The lyrics were written primarily in English to appeal to a global audience.

"Love Sign" is a track rooted in R&B and soul, infused with the sensibilities of Nu-disco pop. The keyboard work by Naré K and guitar by Carlos Maestro weave a rich, tight groove, while the clean, understated vocals drive the song's mood.

The chorus creates a moment where the rhythm and hand movements synchronize as the names of sign languages are called out, effectively embodying the group's slogan—"See Music, Feel Music"—within the chorus itself.
