Amazon’s hit action series Reacher gets its first spin-off in Neagley.
Created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, the crime series follows private investigator Frances Neagley as she looks to uncover the truth after an old friend dies in a suspicious accident.
Maria Stern reprises her role as Frances Neagley, alongside new cast members Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman.
All eight episodes of Neagley were released on September 16, 2026 on Amazon Prime Video.
While it appeared as if Tommy Crane (Jhaleil Swaby) had killed himself by walking out onto the subway tracks while high on drugs, his death stems back to a cult-like group at Echo Canyon led by Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman).
In the series, we discover those in the cult were being used as test subjects for a psychedelic drug called Tranqlara. This drug was developed by a pharmaceutical executive called Pierce Woodrow (Matthew Del Negro), who was being secretly funded by a Swedish billionaire named Arvid Rawlings.
Tommy had discovered what was actually happening within the cult, and he was killed via the drug by those running the operation before he could expose them.
The actions of Neagley’s father was the source of her haphephobia. At a young age, she witnessed her father, a former policeman, kill child molester Elliot Percy. Neagley believed she was abused by him, but in the final episode, she realises Percy actually abused Tommy.
Her father found out about Tommy’s abuse and killed Percy. At that moment, he promised to Neagley that nobody would ever touch her again, while grabbing and shaking her, which instilled a fear of physical contact.
In the finale, after realising Percy abused Tommy, Neagley returns to her father’s hospital bed only to find he has already died. However, he left behind a letter apologising for the damage he had caused her over the years. At his funeral, we see a sign that Neagley is ready to move past her phobia, as she gives Reacher (Alan Ritchson) a handshake.
However, she hasn’t fully moved past her fears. When Detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt) asks if he can kiss her, Neagley declines. Not because she doesn’t want to, but because she ‘can’t’.
In the finale, Neagley and her team head to Echo Canyon in the hopes of retrieving the drug research. At the same time, a bunch of armed operatives have been sent to the underground silo to blow up the evidence under the orders of Arvid Rawlings.
A shoot-out ensues and Neagley manages to retrieve the research. At the same time, she manages to rescue the surviving cult members, including Keno (Jasper Jones), and escape before the facility explodes – leaving cult leader Lawrence Cole to perish in the blaze.
There is, however, one last loose end. Neagley confronts Rawlings and instead of arresting him, she injects him with Tranqlara. In a later scene, we see Rawlings wandering naked into traffic, before colliding with a truck.
