R3HAB Shares Remix Of Billy Idol’s ‘Cradle Of Love’

DJ and producer Fadil El Ghoul, known to listeners worldwide as R3HAB, has taken on Billy Idol’s “Cradle Of Love,” taken from the rock star’s 1990 LP Charmed Life.

The producer couldn’t have picked a better Idol song to remix. “Cradle of Love” originally reached No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since racked up millions of streams worldwide. It was boosted in part by an accompanying music video directed by none other than David Fincher, who was just beginning his foray into Hollywood.

R3HAB is known for creating remixes for artists like Taylor Swift, Drake, Calvin Harris, and Rihanna. Additionally, he’s collaborated with superstars like Luis Fonsi, Ava Max, ZAYN, and plenty others. His work has collected over 12 billion streams to date, including more than 1.1B in 2024 alone. Remarkably, his work has earned him over 100 Diamond, Platinum, and Gold certificates.

As for the album on which “Cradle of Love” is featured, Billy Idol’s hotly anticipated follow-up to 1986’s Whiplash Smile was initially marred by a horrifying accident. Just hours after wrapping the sessions in February 1990, Idol took his motorcycle out in Hollywood and suffered a crash which left him in hospital for months.

Reflecting on this near-fatal experience in a 2022 interview with Record Collector magazine, Idol said, “It was a wake-up call. I didn’t know if I was going to lose my leg. I didn’t know if I’d ever perform again – or make music again. The focus was on me getting better so I could go out on the tour that was already booked to promote the album.”

Fast forward to 2026, and it’s been an exciting time for Idol, who has been touring consistently for the past decade and shows few signs of slowing down. Back in May, the “White Wedding” singer received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Music Awards. The May 25 broadcast also featured Idol playing a medley of his hits, marking his first time performing at the AMAs.
