“Not My Problem” is a dreamy rock standout from Grace Smiles, originally from the Chicago area and currently based in Nashville. A soulful vocal intrigue quickly expands to jangling guitars and an emotive introspection, admitting “I like the way I made you in my head.” A dreamier entrancement unveils as the vocals recount “that night after my show,” when “you said you didn’t like my style and my chorus didn’t flow.” The equivalency of a relationship mis-match to a song that doesn’t quite flow is artfully accomplished, with an ensuing “not my problem” catharsis valuing self-worth over the toxicity of others. “Not My Problem” is another delight from Grace Smiles, who first caught our attention with stellar single “Moon/Sun.”
