Yep the percussive opening did have a devil may care or perhaps even straight up devilment about it so ‘Orthallerton’ does extract itself from the usual indie rock seriousness we do surround ourselves with on a daily basis. Where George Boomsma again makes a beeline for being his own man is in a chorus that is just complete swoonful, so we get all the idiosyncrasy in the world but also a crucial heart to the piece that is purely singalong. Most impressed.
