Anteeter – “Mass Escape”

A bustling, building-up danceability shines on “Mass Escape,” a rousing new track from Anteeter, the project of Memphis native Mike Kelley, who is based in Chicago. Representing the debut track from his new EP, Bullets, “Mass Escape” develops from an initially spacious ambience, emitting a simmering screech and buzzing interplay, into thumping rhythms and playful synth frequencies.

“I have a plan for a mass escape, I’ll hold your hand while you make a face,” Kelley’s delivery emerges thereafter, embracing a heightened pitch while the bouncy rhythms, fuzzy bass-synth, and spacey electronics converge, culminating in a sturdier percussive beat as the midpoint approaches. The build to the three-minute turn is excellent as well, as his lead presence invigorates into soaring guitar lines. “Mass Escape” is a dynamic, replay-inducing standout from Anteeter.
