Everything Adds Up for NAM WOO HYUN's 2nd Full-Length Album "2X8"

NAM WOO HYUN has returned with his 2nd full album 2X8 on October 14.

NAM WOO HYUN’s second full-length album, 2X8, commemorates his 10th anniversary as a solo artist. It captures his journey thus far, his present self, and the stories that will unfold in the future.

The title ‘2X8’ carries multiple layers of meaning, symbolizing both NAM WOO HYUN’s personal timeline and the essence of this album. Adding 2 and 8 results in 10—marking his 10th anniversary as a soloist—while multiplying them yields 16, representing the 16 tracks that fill the album. Furthermore, the number 16 resonates with the 16 years that have passed since the debut of INFINITE, the group to which he belongs. For Nam Woo-hyun, the past decade has been a journey both as a solo artist and as a member of INFINITE. Additionally, as his birthday falls on February 8th, the title ‘2X8’ naturally weaves in the artist’s own personal history.

Nam Woo-hyun took charge of writing and composing every track on this album, showcasing an even deeper musical spectrum as a singer-songwriter. From the grand opening track "Blank" (餘白) to the alluring and captivating title track "DEVIL," the album traverses a diverse range of genres—including R&B, synth-pop, rock, and ballads—highlighting his delicate vocal delivery and broad musical palette.

Notably, the 10th track, "10rg Page," expresses his heartfelt sentiments toward the fans who have been by his side throughout these past 10 years. This is a serenade that looks back on the time passed—reflecting on the story written together with fans as if turning to a single page—while also singing of the time that lies ahead. The track "Boys and Girls (Feat. INFINITE)" features the voices of his fellow INFINITE members, who have been by his side for so long; it captures memories of the days spent laughing and crying together, as well as the story that will continue to unfold.

The 16 tracks represent more than just a numerical count; they serve as a record of the experiences, emotions, and moments of growth that Nam Woo-hyun has accumulated through his music over the past decade. The album offers a clear portrait of the artist Nam Woo-hyun has become—evolving beyond a mere vocalist into a creator who crafts his own music.

The final, 16th track is titled "Tree." By concluding the narrative with "Tree"—a name that also serves as a symbol for Nam Woo-hyun himself—the album leaves a lingering resonance, as if, after traversing so much time, he has finally returned to his own true place.
