Spanish space rockers Electric Valley are exploring the cosmos once again with new track “Gata,” taken from the trio’s upcoming fourth full-length Echo. We’re offering up the six-minute video, “a new sci-fi story,” created and produced by the band with MindVideo IA. On this sonic slow-burner, the opening minutes are light, airy and psychedelic as a spaceship floats off into the galaxy, its astronauts unconscious in pods, unaware of their impending doom. When the their ship encounters an asteroid field and gets damaged, the music transitions into heavy fuzzed-out riffs and Electric Valley—Mario García (guitar), Charlie Sánchez (drums), Miky Simón (bass/vocals—provide the crushing soundtrack to the hapless space travelers’ demise as they crash and burn.

Echo was recorded by Javier Ortiz at Studio Brazil, Madrid, Spain, except the title track which was recorded by Eric Medina at Abuso De Confianza Studio in Madrid. All songs were mixed by Charlie Sanchez, except “Echo” (by Eric Medina). Mastering was handled by Chris Goosman at Baseline Audio Labs, Ann Arbor, MI. It’s set for release on vinyl, CD and digitally via Small Stone Recordings on November 6. Place your preorder here.
Bassist/vocalist Miky Simón offered this description of the band’s latest effort:
“‘Gata’ narrates a space mission that ends in catastrophe. Two humans destined to spend eternity together see their destiny truncated in a space odyssey that breaks their ties and ends their mission in an unexpected and tragic way. A psychedelic beginning with kraut rock vibes and space rock atmospheres grows until it explodes with the perfect storm of heavy riffs to narrate a crushing ending.”
