Where they from?
Vermont. The Jets lost to the Patriots Sunday in the most predictable fashion: defensive miscues, offense balled up and hung around enough just to torture us die-hards. I am seeing improvement and am very confident that we will be able to beat this team come 2040.
Why the hype?
Man, it’s been a while since I’ve heard a hardcore band just burst apart at the seems (in a good way!) like these Green Mountain boys. Void Bringer are the sound of a hardcore band’s rage getting the best of them, every second is infused with malicious anger. This might be the American answer to Britain’s Gets Worse: sloppy yet powerful blast beats, ignorant breakdowns and a vocalist just losing his damn mind in the booth. If you lean more towards the “hardcore bands playing really fucking fast” than look no further.
Latest release?
Green Mountain Powerviolence, 625 Thrash/Second Republic. It’s rare nowadays that I hear a record and dream about what the band would sound like in a live setting, but here we are. I can only hope that the psychotic fury of this record would translate into a barrage of broken microphones and bruised shoulder, purely to accent the intensity of the music. Road trip to Vermont, when?
