Track Premiere: Eternal Armageddon – ‘Constellations of the Night’

Bangladeshi black/thrash trio Eternal Armageddon formed 20 years ago in Dhaka and they ended their run earlier this year, playing one final show. Just because the band has concluded its recording and live performance activities doesn’t mean Eternal Armageddon is gone forever just yet—before splitting, they recorded their second album, The Ageless Star, for release at a later date.

To get a taste of the new record, check out “Constellations of Night,” which you can stream below.

“The song follows an esoteric journey of a seeker of knowledge, moving from primordial chaos and ritualistic darkness toward cosmic transcendence,” Eternal Armageddon tell Decibel. “The seeker witnesses creation, time, heaven and hell, and the dangers of wisdom becoming distorted by greed or the desire for power. Choosing the Left-Hand Path, the seeker passes through nihilism, suffering, darkness, and destruction. The ‘shining black sun’ becomes a central paradox: darkness itself becomes a source of illumination.

“As the seeker confronts death, annihilation, and apocalyptic imagery, they ultimately encounter the all-seeing eye—a fierce, impartial truth beyond conventional notions of good and evil. By shedding customs, senses, and prejudices, the seeker symbolically ‘dies’ and awakens to the inner voice heard throughout the journey.

“The ending reverses the earlier imagery: ‘death becomes awakening, individuality dissolves into multiplicity, and the seeker becomes one with the cosmos.’ They realize themselves as an eternal consciousness underlying the changing universe.

“Philosophically, the song reflects an ancient mystical idea associated with the Upanishadic tradition: beneath the apparent multiplicity of existence lies a single eternal truth or consciousness. This makes ‘Constellations of the Night’ an appropriate conclusion to the album—and potentially to the band’s journey as an individual entity—because the seeker’s journey ends not in destruction, but in transcendence and unity with the whole.”
