After launching in the US over five years ago, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service HBO Max arrives in the UK in 2026.
TV shows and movies under HBO and Warner Bros. have been available through Sky and its streaming service NOW in the UK, but from March this year, HBO Max will be thrown into the equation – although you likely won’t notice a big shift at first.
When it does launch, HBO Max will house content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios and Max Originals.

The streaming service launches in the UK and Ireland on Thursday, March 26, 2026. It will be available via the HBO Max website and through Sky and Amazon Prime Video.
There will be five different subscription tiers at launch, starting from £4.99 per month. You can check out the five tiers, along with their perks, below.
Basic With Ads (£4.99 per month)
Standard With Ads (£5.99 per month)
Standard (£9.99 per month)
Premium (£14.99 per month)
TNT Sports Plan (£30.99 per month)
Those who already have a Sky Ultimate TV or Sky Q subscription via Sky Stream and Sky Glass will have HBO Max Basic with Ads (the lowest tier) added to their plan. Additionally, NOW Entertainment members will be automatically switched to a new Now Entertainment and HBO Max Basic With Ads bundle from March 26.
At launch, HBO Max will have acclaimed US medical drama The Pitt for the first time in the UK. Episodes in the show’s second season will roll out weekly.
Additionally, all forthcoming shows and movies under Warner Bros. Discovery will be available via HBO Max. This includes the upcoming DC show Lanterns, miniseries DTF St. Louis, Rooster, and the Harry Potter TV series, which is set to debut in 2027.
The service will also house prior Warner Bros/HBO shows, like Succession, The Sopranos, The Last Of Us, Friends, The White Lotus, It: Welcome To Derry, Sex And The City, The Big Bang Theory, and Game Of Thrones. The third season of Euphoria will also debut on the service in April, along with House Of The Dragon season three later this year.
Beyond TV shows, HBO Max will have a selection of movies from Warner Bros., including One Battle After Another, Sinners, Superman, A Minecraft Movie, Weapons, Dune: Part One, along with all the Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings movies.

Sky previously announced a partnership agreement with HBO for the launch of HBO Max, so for the foreseeable future, any HBO original series which aired before the end of 2025 will also remain with Sky. With the bundled subscription too, those subscribed to Sky will get access to future HBO shows after this date at no extra cost.
In other words, existing subscribers to Sky and NOW are simply getting a few extras strapped onto the deal. While those without a subscription have a more appealing reason to sign up, with the entire Warner Bros. Discovery slate under one subscription.
