Ryan Gosling plays a science teacher stranded in space in Project Hail Mary.
Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the sci-fi adventure film follows Ryland Grace who awakens on a spacecraft light-years from Earth, with no memory of how he wound up there. After uncovering a mission to stop a mysterious substance killing the sun, he strikes up an unexpected friendship with an alien nicknamed Rocky.
Alongside Gosling, the film’s cast includes Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub, Priya Kansara, Liz Kingsman and Orion Lee.
Project Hail Mary was released in UK cinemas on March 20, 2026.
The film’s score is by Daniel Pemberton, who previously collaborated with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and its sequel. His other credits include Steve Jobs, The Trial Of The Chicago 7 and Being The Ricardos.
