Kyle Waves could certaintly be the next gay pop icon. He has recently released his catchy electronic track “Internet Boy” which blends a smooth R&B type beat with hyperpop sounding vocals. The result is a track that sounds both captivating and sultry. The song is excellent for the top 40 world and deserves an airplay campaign.
Lyrically, “Internet Boy” is a social comentary on what it’s like to grow up in the internet era, where your whole life is on full display on social meida; available for people to objectify you, bully you, and obsess over you. Expect this one to get stuck in your head just after the first listen!
“I’ve been experimenting with the themes and viewpoints in my music lately. I wanted to highlight my experience of being objectified and viewed as a product or something that people can play with, just because I post myself or my work online. It’s an experience that I know I share with a lot of gay men, in particular, when it comes to online culture.” – Kyle Waves
