That is a serious bassline, reminded me of the Arcade Fire’s ‘Rebellion (Lies)’ but ‘White Walls’ is less anthemic and more considered. Still quite the catch it must be said, full of lolloping and abstract grandstanding in a tune that is full of reasons why we should hum/sing along in time. All in all it shows what can be done when an act is blessed with an effortless of approach and a bunch of winning ideas. If the xx had smiled every now and then I am sure they would have sounded like Sheep Cause. KH
