Hailing from Münster, Germany, Paperthin Fleet formed in 2025 and are quickly establishing their identity within the alternative rock scene. Their music brings together emotional songwriting, catchy melodies, and an edgier sonic approach, creating a balance between intensity and vulnerability. This blend is also reflected in their influences, which include Coldplay, Touché Amoré, Editors, and Nothing But Thieves, to name a few.
With a strong focus on their live performances, Paperthin Fleet see themselves first and foremost as a live band, aiming to create a genuine connection with their audiences whenever they take the stage. Their music explores uncertainty, hope, and the courage required to keep moving forward, and Lights provides perhaps the clearest introduction to these themes. The track serves as the first single from their debut EP, also titled Lights.
As stated above, Lights is pretty self-explanatory, being a song about finding hope when confronted with doubt and feeling caught between uncertainty and the desire to keep moving forward. It captures those moments when sometimes a person, a memory, or even just a small sign can give you the motivation to keep resisting and carrying on.
Through a tapestry of colourful instrumentation, that feeling of unbreakable hope comes to life, charged with lively guitars and assertive drumming that, in conjunction, convey a sound I can only describe as “inspirational nostalgia,” one that indeed feels like a beacon of light on a cloudy day.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Paperthin Fleet live at any of their upcoming shows:
