New York-based sibling duo Reality Distortion pairs understated percussion with themes of global unity and peace, channeling folk-driven arrangements into a resonant call for collective harmony amidst societal instability. Coming ahead of Reality Distortion’s upcoming EP Ceasefire, out on August 7th, “Renaissance” is an international output, featuring contributors from Colombia, India, Mexico, and across the United States.

A solemnly melodic acoustic guitar presence flows initially, moving seamlessly into affecting dual harmonies. “Let’s call it a renaissance, not a revolution,” the duo intones, heightening in emotion during the “sweetest thing” introspections. The imaginings of a paradise, far away yet hopefully in reach someday, further deepen as the lyricism continues to compel.
