Sammee, a hybrid artist who delivers meaningful messages through Y2K dance pop, has released her debut EP, "Same Me". She took part in writing and composing every track, served as executive producer, and created the choreography for the title track 'Same Me.'

The EP is built on the sounds of early 2000s American pop. Its five tracks form one continuous story: first falling in love with music, preserving one’s true self in a changing world, finding unity through dance, navigating an era of technology and connectivity, and finally revisiting the memories of our most innocent days.

Sammee’s message is that holding on to our original intentions matters, even as the world changes and we grow older. At its core, she says, is the essence of being human: our ability to love one another and stay connected. She hopes listeners will enjoy the nostalgia and also reclaim the innocence and love they may have forgotten.

'Play It Again' opens the EP like pressing play on an old CD player, encouraging listeners to return to the mindset they had when they first fell in love with music and life. It is a bouncy, uplifting boom-bap hip-hop track. Sammee wrote the lyrics and composed it with moiin, who also arranged it.

“Same Me', one of two title tracks, is a declaration of staying true to oneself no matter how life changes us. Its performance-driven pop sound recalls boy bands like *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, with distorted vocal loops and hazy textures creating the Y2K atmosphere. Sammee composed it with GEEK MIN, who arranged it.

'Dance on the Earth' (feat. Lee Kyujin), the second title track, argues that even in an upside-down world we were born as free spirits made to dance. Its upbeat, party-inspired teen pop sound is energized by R&B vocalist Lee Kyujin, who also co-wrote and co-composed it. Sammee and Sisyphus co-composed, and Sisyphus arranged. K-pop choreography team Auspicious contributed both the choreography and the music video production, visually extending the song’s message.

'Ubiquitous' is a hip-hop track with fin-de-siècle cyberpunk aesthetics, and it marks the EP’s turning point, where its underlying conflict and confusion peak. It looks at how the early-2000s vision of “ubiquitous computing” evolved into today’s indiscriminate techno-centrism, critically examining our blind faith in technological progress. It steps away from the album’s otherwise bright, hopeful mood to confront the present-day world. Sammee, Sisyphus and moiin composed it, and Sisyphus and moiin arranged it.

'Girlhood' closes the EP with a return to innocence. The narrator looks back on childhood memories with someone dear and feels the bittersweet regret of no longer being able to share those moments. The person addressed could be a childhood friend, a lover, or the narrator’s own younger self. This R&B pop track with a memorable melodic chorus concludes with the realization that what we ultimately long for is the purest version of ourselves. Sammee composed it with Elijah Melo, who also arranged it.
